Chris Kelley
Program Director for Bozeman Lacrosse

Chris has been involved with lacrosse in the area since its introduction. He is very happy to be playing an instrumental role with the Bozeman Lacrosse program. Coach Kelley is also the head coach for the Montana State University Men’s Lacrosse Club.

In Chris’ role as Program Director, he will be responsible for directing all player development programs and providing guidance both operationally and instructionally as to best practices for coaching, player development and communicating lacrosse knowledge across all ages and all levels of the program.

Chris will also be organizing clinics and developmental skills programs for players throughout the year. He will work closely with both our high school and youth coaching staff to create practice plans and player evaluation.  As well as provide primary input on coaches, team size, league registrations, tournament participation, program philosophy and key policies for high school and youth programs. Uniquely, Chris will also be able to form a more interactive program with college level players, leagues and coaches while supporting our relationships with MLA and other high school and youth programs.

Coach Kelley began playing lacrosse at Regis Jesuit High School in Denver, Colorado before moving to Bozeman to attend MSU. While at MSU, Kelley helped start the MSU Lacrosse Club as well as the Gallatin Valley Lacrosse League, now Bozeman Lacrosse/GVL. Kelley was recognized on the field for MSU earning All-Conference recognition in the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse Conference 4 times, twice being named All-American as a midfielder for the Bobcats.

After school, Kelley was lucky enough to turn his passion for the game of lacrosse into a career. He has held front office positions with the San Francisco Dragons (MLL) and the Washington Stealth (NLL). He coached with the Mukilteo High School Lacrosse program and was also involved coaching for the Junior Stealth indoor team in Washington. He has helped with the Seattle Starz select teams as well as the Rhino Select and Elite teams based in Montana. He was named the Coach of the Year for the RMLC in 2016 for his work with the Bobcats in an undefeated season.
